A CALL TO ACTION

~ Just a year end reminder of why you are here (my opinion and it is not humble)

I agree with the focus of the admin of his unwavering actions to bring African American eyes to African American projects this is a well needed pursuit. Currently we allow large entertainment corporations define what the role of young Black people is going to be in the future. We are doing a disservice to ourselves and our civil rights heroes by agreeing to capitulate to what is being presented. Before you set sail on a  voyage you need to have some idea of the desired destination even if it is destination unknown. You also have to know why you are doing it.

In a society where wealth defines ability we are woefully deficient therefore we must redefine what allows ability to flourish. and as we group in numbers we demonstrate that we can amass the wealth of our abilities, thus creating that which we seek.

The ideology of other intelligent folks should not hinder the expansion or expression of my own intelligence in anyway shape form or matter. There comes a point when we have exhausted the traditional ways of acting, thinking and viewing the world around us, when that is done it is time to critically find a new or different and improved way to proceed. I think that is where Black authors are finding themselves at today. Some willingly and others not so much (they seem to be lost in old precepts. I feel that Black writing is on the cusp of taking a quantum leap into its own future

When I came to Black Science Fiction Society these are the types of discussions I wished to pursue in the group if this is something you wish to engage in you are welcome to interact with me but if this is something you wish to debate please save your efforts, it is not open to debate for me. In other words get on my band wagon or step on.

When a writer chooses to be limited to a specific narrow genre it is because they see it as a profit model of agreed mindless repetition, that can be limiting and myopic ~ I choose not limiting myself to the whims of profit. Does that mean that I will never be read or I will never be rich? Perhaps; but I will remain true to me and in the future when I am found by a more forward thinking group of readers and critics is when I will shine. In the meantime here we are.
