I was going to reply to Thaddeus' post "Built for Love" but figured it was too big a response on this topic. So in the article from Thaddeus' post the topic of our 'hardwiring' towards emotional response in relationships  with robots was discussed. Of course, we human beings doing what we do in our creative pursuits have now crossed the 'mechanical sexual' threshold. In the Film 'Blade Runner' the theme concerned the rights of the 'manufactured'. One of the band of 'Replicants' was a 'pleasure model' used for 'morale enhancement' on far-flung off-world military bases. Well, we've got those now!

I became aware of these startlingly realistic 'Love Dolls' back in '97 on a production I was working on. I thought the anatomically correct 'female' dolls could be a viable substitute as 'body doubles' for actresses unwilling to do critical love or nude scenes. In the years since I have seen how these 'Real Dolls' have not only become 'companions' to people, but have sparked a whole industry of 'Android Sex Companions'! Those who have embraced this technology are called 'idollators'.

Here's a link to the Real Doll site. Be advised, it is adult material and is suggested for Mature Audiences only.

Also, here is the very informative documentary on the subject called "Guys and Dolls". It's kind of hard to watch (like watching a car wreck) in that it is an 'alternative lifestyle' most are not ready to deal with. However, it does give some great insight on the expectations that come with relationships between the 'biological' and the 'inanimate'.

Sean, you've nailed the premise for 'The PAnd0RA Ultimatum'. People are lonely enough with as many people are on this planet. Imagine what life is like for people working and living out in the galaxy?

I'm a big proponent of love bots.  I wasn't always but what turned me was stories of male vets that come back from service and have lost their wife or girlfriend because of a war injury physical or mental and simply need companionship.  Another story was a guy who lives in Alaska where women are pretty scarce so he got a love doll and has never been happier.  There are many upsides, one is cost.  While it's true the initial cost is expensive in the long run its far cheaper then a human female.  Think of the ring she wants you to buy, then anniversary gifts after anniversary gifts, then there's the high probability of divorce, that's just another reason to go down this road.  These bots are going to get more and more advanced and eventually will be able to prepare your favorite food and hold a conversation.  There's already have AI that learns as you talk to it. Check out the Ultra Hal Assistant on http://zabaware.com/  Below is a youtube video of a guy who made his own.  I'll be working on mine soon for a science paper I'm working on.  As a Physics major and technophile, I find this fascinating and inevitable.

I Prefer The Embrace Of A Woman. Nothing Beats Her Organic Presence.

Fascinating!  I not familiar with 'The PAnd0RA Ultimatum'.  Is this a new book that's out?  It sound very interesting.  I see the world going in a similar direction to the movie Cherry 2000 but not as extreme.  The whole having a lawyer on tap before beginning a date maybe a little over board but a personal bot in the home of a single guy is pretty close to what's coming.  Where can I see more info about 'The PAnd0RA Ultimatum'?

Fallback Disk...

A group of researchers recently observed a mysterious infrared emission coming from near a pulsar in NASA's Hubble Space telescope data. This animation depicts one possible source of the emission: a "fallback disk" or a disk that formed from materials of the parent star falling back into the neutron star after a supernova. The Enslavement of the "Black Art Movement"

Posted by Turtel Onli on September 19, 2018 at 8:30am 0 Comments

During the heady days of the Black Cultural revolution in Chicago, there was a lot of art dealing with this hope and concept.  The mainstream galleries, Black art curators, historians and critics mostly stayed away from it.  Then once certain major players in this died in came the White parasites.  One a college professor the other a Jewish art dealer.  Both swooped in making deals to sell works, with the other building a entire career path for herself.  Now they are the accepted go-to authorities of this movement. That they treat as a dead slave on their plantations. "The Black Art Movement" now produces no revenue or power for the people it were supposed to benefit.

And all of this happened due to the "Black on Black boycott" that allowed non-Blacks to walk in a take it to the bank.  WHen Black do not support and endorse its own positives others come in later to reap its resources, power & wealth.

Schrödinger's Temperatures...

A new uncertainty principle holds that quantum objects can be at two temperatures at once, which is similar to the famous Schrödinger's cat thought experiment, in which a cat in a box with a radioactive element can be both alive and dead. Credit: Shutterstock

Tunable Quantum States...

When the researchers turn an external magnetic field in different directions (indicated with arrows), they change the orientation of the linear electron flow above the kagome (six-fold) magnet, as seen in these electron wave interference patterns on the surface of a topological quantum kagome magnet. Each pattern is created by a particular direction of the external magnetic field applied on the sample.

Republicans: Founded in 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and modernizers, the Republican Party quickly surpassed the Whig Party as the principal opposition to the Democratic Party. In 1860, it came to power with the election of Abraham Lincoln to the presidency. The party presided over the American Civil War and Reconstruction and was harried by internal factions and scandals toward the end of the 19th century. Today, the party supports a conservative platform (from an American political perspective), with further foundations in supply-side fiscal policies,…

At 2:30 a.m. EDT (0630 UTC) on Sept. 11, the MODIS instrument aboard NASA’s Aqua satellite looked at Hurricane Florence in infrared light. MODIS found coldest cloud top temperatures around the eye, as cold as or colder than minus 80 degrees (yellow) Fahrenheit (minus 112 degrees Celsius). Surrounding the eye were thick rings of powerful storms with cloud tops as cold as or colder than minus 70 degrees (red) Fahrenheit (minus 56.6 degrees Celsius). Credit: NASA/NRL…
