Last Resort, a sophisticated submarine drama-adventure has been sunk, while the mundane, the idiotic and the sub-par enjoy longevity on the airwaves. This show took off running and shined brighter with each episode. Unfortunately, despite great writing, great pacing, gripping suspense, and an engaging cast of characters, Last Resort was never given a chance to succeed! Pity!

It was a good idea. But they tried to settle into a "base situation" too early. They should have kept the pace and the pressure on the ship for a while AND made it more clear that they were SET UP.

Even I stopped watching when it looked like the island was going to be their home for a while.
But the opening episode was hot!
Andre Braugher was on point but he didn't have anyone of equal caliber to play against.
And the "villain" actually VISITS the island?? That came too early!

I started out watching LAST RESORT without a great deal of belief in that they could keep such a premise going for an entire season but the more I watched, the more I started trusting that the writers would indeed be able to do so. The show got better and better and Andre Braugher simply commanded each and every scene he was in. And in the last couple of episodes I could swear there were hints that his character knew a bit more than he let on about was on going on.

I totally forgot about this show ever being on...Goes to show how much I was network TV...All I watch is cable..Because network TV is crap the last show I watched on ABC was the New V series and you see how well that went....

I would like this to be the BSFS radio subject for November 30 - Hope you show so that we can discuss the writing on this show.  I understand the necessity for a high level of belief or the suspension there of that is needed to enjoy the show -- I want to put that portion aside and dive into the dialogue of the show, the back story of some of the side characters that stunk up the island and so forth --

If you want to give yourself a piece of joy in good writing go back and watch Defying Gravity with Malik Yoba and then we have something to compare Last Resort against

MAN. WHAT HAPPENED TO -UNDERCOVERS- I SAW 3 EPISODES AND IT WAS GONE.

Undercovers -- M & Mrs Jones meet Heart to Heart meets The Avengers -- had potential but was poorly presented and could have had better direction from the chair to make the characters more magnetic -- In fact four episodes without a mission would have done the series well -- I am not a pro I am just an insightful critic

I would give an intricate, wordy introduction, but there are some hinderances. I am currently realm-building for a debut series, but life has a way of taking priority. One day, I will have the availability I need. My next one will be more detailed, rest assured.

One potentially valuable way to attack cancer cells is to zap them with low-intensity alternating current. This interferes with the flow of calcium and potassium ions in and out of the cells, a process so important that disrupting it ultimately kills them.

But there is a problem with this approach:…

Figure 1: On 17 August 2017 LIGO detected gravitational waves from a neutron-star collision. Within 12 hours observatories had identified the source of the event GW170817 within the galaxy NGC 4993 – shown in this Hubble Space Telescope image – and located the associated radioactive emissions, or “kilonova”. Hubble observed that flare of light fade over the course of six days, as shown in these observations taken on 22, 26 and 28 August (insets). Intelligent Collectors encouraged!

The fact that most indie Black Age publishers produce limited editions or small press runs insures the collector will likely have a rare item to treasure. Future speculative investors, auctions and collectors, once its time has come, will pay dividends to acquire items from this extended important era in this industry. Seeing "Black" as investment value or prestige is growing beyond the realm of that which comes from the mainstream. Most will be left saying...."I had those Black Age books...I didn't ever think much of them. Damn!"

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
