The Black Science Fiction Society has opened my eyes to the myriad works of African Diaspora and Black artists.
Provided a friendly soulful spot on the web to meet read and put me own breathtaking works of epic... uh given me a chance to put my afrocentric stories out to an audience.

B.S.F.S will help me become who i am. I would love to get to know other black people like me and help them to like you are helping us.Thank you, Rory
Its encouraging to know that there are a number of aspiring or otherwise black sci-fi writers out there!
By being a member of the Black Science Fiction Society, I've made some friends and read some great books I would not have come across otherwise.
It has renewed my interest in knowing feeling and learning about other African American writers that share my love of science fiction from a time before we knew what we liked about it. I remember watching Forbidden Planet and wondering where are the Black people.

Connecting with other African American writers is a fulfilling activity for me, it allows me make statements comments in an environment where I know that they will be understood and appreciated.

I appreciate science fiction writers the imagination process that goes into building an entire world and society while getting you the reader to embrace the concepts put before you. I at how a good science fiction story includes someone that looks like me will be represented in any post earth future.

I wish that i were able to visit with some of the people that are members of the group geographically (Seattle) I seem to be a distance away. I look forward to getting to know some if not most of you via skype email and postings here on BLACK SCIENCE FICTION SOCIETY.
THE BSFS has created a forum where all of us Africans who love literature and art depicting a future in which we are pioneers, explorers, adventurers, leaders and complex humans can share our enthusiasm and collaborate on wide-ranging projects. We need to continue building BSFS so that it becomes both an incubator and a power-house.
Because of BSFS I have made a number of new friends and found many new authors, artists and plenty of other artistic individuals that I would have never discovered.
BSFS really opened my eyes to the wealth of Science Fiction and Fantasy authors and aficionados of color. I had previously thought that I was alone, especially in regard to authors and creators of these works. However, I've found an invaluable resource as a member of this site: The large amount of people like me, both in interest and in race, that appreciate and understand science fiction and fantasy works by and for people of color.
The Black Science Fiction Society has ignited my passion and continues to inspire me to become even greater with my works as an author. I've been inspired by the works of other members that I didn't have any idea about until I got here. I've also been well educated by the features here on the Black Science Fiction Society. This is the site where I first found out who Octavia Butler was. There is an overwhelming feeling of comradery here that keeps me coming back so often to the Black Science Fiction Society.
Being here on Black Science Fiction Society has been a blessing. I have been encouraged, advised, and informed. Many people here want us all to succeed. I have also learned many things about black artists, inventors, and animators. Much props to the BSFS Family!
Thanks,
G

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
