Often time’s people say there is nothing but air and opport -unity that keeps you from your goals.
Some things I've ran into were money and manpower. Those have also become things to learn from. Not having enough money forced me to be more creative and to prioritize. Not having manpower pushed me to learn to schedule and plan. What is holding you back?
It depends on what you mean. Holding me back from what? I used to be a freelance scriptwriter and the biggest mistake I made was joining a writing staff. Actually having to deal with Hollywood left me dejected, depleted and discouraged. But, I never stopped writing and I plan on getting back into it after 15 years. This time, I'll be better equipped to deal with the scourge in Hollywood.
I agree. It seems to vary with each discipline, yet with a host of similarities. For some, it could be anything from resources, time, "creative flow", time, support, environment, mind state, knowledge, etc. Some people go through depression, Some people have a bad string of clients that ruin their creative spirit and they end up hating one thing that they really love, some let their ego/emotion become a barrier...etc. I think a better question could be, What keeps you going?
