I agree Ceres and I take full blame for any and all errors.
Hopefully one day I can be forgiven for trying to reach beyond my limitations.
In my rush to meet deadlines, a computer crash, computer theft and inexperience some corners were cut to get it done. I plan to fix any past errors in the next printing due before Christmas/Kwanza season.

Personally, I don't think it's ready. In the rush to get it out the door, there were numerous formatting errors.

would you be fine if i nominated the anthology for a carl brandon award. or maybe if someone else wanted to they could. but i thought it would be a good idea and perhaps have a good chance to win.

Hi everyone, this is Sheree Renée Thomas waving from Memphis!

I'm editing speculative poetry for Strange Horizons, the online magazine (an award-winning, professional market), so please visit the zine’s submission guidelines, read what they have published in the past, and send your best speculative poetry.

http://www.strangehorizons.com/

I am also a juror for the annual Carl Brandon Society awards. The Carl Brandon Parallax Award is given to works of speculative fiction created by a self-identified person of color. This Award includes a $1000 cash prize. The Carl Brandon Kindred Award, named in honor of Octavia E. Butler, includes a $1000 cash prize. The award is given to any work of speculative fiction dealing with issues of race and ethnicity; nominees may be of any racial or ethnic group.

In summary, if you are a writer of color who has published a SF/F novel, story collection, or a story in another publication, please visit the website posthaste and send your work. Right now we are looking at works published in ’09, but we will also begin reading works for ’10 in January. The nomination deadline for SF/F works published in 2010 is February 28, 2011.

Sleuthing Antimatter...

Two white dwarfs head toward a collision in this artist’s illustration. New research suggests that the Milky Way's preponderance of positrons could come from a specialized type of supernova from colliding low-mass white dwarfs — an explosion that is difficult to detect, but rich in an isotope that generates this kind of antimatter.

Aluna's Encounter: The Fissure

Posted by Lauren on May 23, 2017 at 1:13pm 0 Comments

I planted my feet firmly on the ground. I never felt more connected to the planet where I stood than where I was right then in that moment. I took in a large, deep breath. It felt like I was breathing in the essence of crisp fresh snow.

And then I released.

This part of the plateau no one was allowed near. Off to the distance, I could see our city, Sheba, the buildings were made of gold and the streets were littered with diamonds and gems.

I zipped my jacket up and hid behind a large rock and waited.

The reason why people weren't allowed out this far from Sheba was because of the instability of the terrain. The scientists said that our world sometimes would converge with another world; a more dangerous world.

But this terrain was also where the agents came in and out of around this time of the evening. I wanted to see who they were bringing back this time.

A crackling of lightning and static happened…

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
