Le Negre Marron- Haiti

"Le Negre Marron" (The Black Maroon; in creole, "Neg Mawon"), often translated in English as the "Unknown Slave" statue; on the boulevard "Champ de Mars" with Haiti's presidential palace in background. The "Negre Marron" is shown with left leg extended (broken chain on his ankle); a machete (partially hidden by flower wreaths) is in his right hand, and his left hand holds a conch shell to his lips. The conch shell was often used as a trumpet to assemble people. Created by the Haitian sculptor/architect, Albert Mangones (1917-2002) in 1968 or 1969, the statue was commissioned by the Duvalier government to commemorate the slaves who revolted against France.- Excerpt from The Atlantic Slave Trade and Slave Life In Americas, Virginia.edu

*note- the statue was put up by the infamous Duvalier dictatorship, part of their continued efforts to appropriate and co-opt images of the popular Haitian Revolution to further their very anti-revolutionary and brutal reign.

To my limited knowledge, there isn't an in depth work on said conflicts. You will see a brief paragraoh or an illustration depicting Kush/Nubians bringing up tribute. During Ancient Egypt's high days, they had raised forts and colonial cities in early Kush.  When a strong unified Kush folk began to whelm them, the Egyptians retreated.  The isle of Elephantine, in the midst of the Nile upriver from the Land of the Blacks, long remained a boundary stronghold of the Egyptians.

Part of the mainstay of the Kush armies, were their archers.  It can be believed that many an assault by the upriver armies ended broken by the constant barbed rain that fell upon them.    There is info on the invasion led by the Kush king Piankhi who conquered and united Egypt and laid the foundation for his ( very reluctantly) aknowleged Black dynasty.   It's rise coincided with that of an aggressive Mid Eastern empire, the Assyrians.    They were destined to collide!

Does Any one have information on the ancient Kushite / Egyptian war? I'm looking for anything pertaining to how it started, what tactics were used, anything that I can find would be of great use to my epic that I'm working on. Thank you so much.

It seems to be the habit of certain totalitarian regimes of erecting heroic statues while they vilely murder, loot, and be in general as bad if not worse than the regime they replaced.

There's an interesting article on Timbuktu in the January 2011 issue of "National Geographic."  As a bonus, there's also an article on the pre-Columbian North American city, Cahokia.

A group of researchers recently observed a mysterious infrared emission coming from near a pulsar in NASA's Hubble Space telescope data. This animation depicts one possible source of the emission: a "fallback disk" or a disk that formed from materials of the parent star falling back into the neutron star after a supernova. The Enslavement of the "Black Art Movement"

Posted by Turtel Onli on September 19, 2018 at 8:30am 0 Comments

During the heady days of the Black Cultural revolution in Chicago, there was a lot of art dealing with this hope and concept.  The mainstream galleries, Black art curators, historians and critics mostly stayed away from it.  Then once certain major players in this died in came the White parasites.  One a college professor the other a Jewish art dealer.  Both swooped in making deals to sell works, with the other building a entire career path for herself.  Now they are the accepted go-to authorities of this movement. That they treat as a dead slave on their plantations. "The Black Art Movement" now produces no revenue or power for the people it were supposed to benefit.

And all of this happened due to the "Black on Black boycott" that allowed non-Blacks to walk in a take it to the bank.  WHen Black do not support and endorse its own positives others come in later to reap its resources, power & wealth.

A new uncertainty principle holds that quantum objects can be at two temperatures at once, which is similar to the famous Schrödinger's cat thought experiment, in which a cat in a box with a radioactive element can be both alive and dead. Credit: Shutterstock

Tunable Quantum States...

When the researchers turn an external magnetic field in different directions (indicated with arrows), they change the orientation of the linear electron flow above the kagome (six-fold) magnet, as seen in these electron wave interference patterns on the surface of a topological quantum kagome magnet. Each pattern is created by a particular direction of the external magnetic field applied on the sample.

Republicans: Founded in 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and modernizers, the Republican Party quickly surpassed the Whig Party as the principal opposition to the Democratic Party. In 1860, it came to power with the election of Abraham Lincoln to the presidency. The party presided over the American Civil War and Reconstruction and was harried by internal factions and scandals toward the end of the 19th century. Today, the party supports a conservative platform (from an American political perspective), with further foundations in supply-side fiscal policies,…
