Hey Scifi Bloggers!

Thank you all for watching my film "The Visitor" for the Hollywood Black Film Festival mobile challenge. We truly appreciate your support!

I am a HUGE fan of Black romantic Scifi films and I felt this was a great opportunity to create a film that showcases this genre staring African Americans. My hope is that our film will at least spark conversations and maybe open a few doors and opportunities to create more films like this.

"The Visitor" is a romantic sci-fi staring African Americans about a by chance encounter of the strange kind in the mist of Mara morning the loss of her one true love. We loved the idea of creating something visually stimulating and different starring African Americans. Please join us in this journey and VOTE, VOTE, VOTE!!! Please!

We (the cast & crew) are very excited that we had the opportunity to be apart of such a fun challenge. We had 30 days to write, produce and edit a 3 min. short film using a mobile device. AND we had to choose from 3 genres: Horror, Superhero & Sci-Fi. This challenge forced us as filmmakers to step out of our comfort zone and create something new and fresh.

THANK YOU!
P.S. I'll be sure to keep you posted on our progress!

#thenewblack is an initiative to present bold stories for our community, Komplicated is "relaunching" with webcomics casting Black faces throughout space and time, all the way down to our own block. Southside Nefertiti, World of Hurt, Force Galaxia, Freedman and Alex Simmons' legendary Blackjack!  Every weekday on Komplicated.com!

Hello!

We're here from Komplicated.com, a site "doing it for the block and the blogosphere, taking stock of the Black geek aesthetic."

We cover music (free MP3 downloads every Monday), culture (gaming, humor, et cetera), technology (all brands of science and gadgetry) and escapism (movies, TV, books, comics & a weekly guide where to find Black people in them).  Our weekly hour long webcast It's Komplicated is hosted by whimsical gadget gal Myshell Tabu and senior media correspondent, retailer and Total Recall writer Vince Moore, and happens Sunday nights at 9PM PST on the Geekweek Network.

We just had a great interview with Blackjack creator Alex Simmons and will feature Titans/Mr. Terrific/Eureka writer Eric Wallace (the only Black person writing a monthly comic for one of the "big two" publishers) this week on the webcast.

Thank you for your time and attention and we hope you'll check out our site!

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
