I am working on my first scifi novella with a friend and we plan on publishing it Spring of 2015. I am also writing a scifi short story everyday in January beginning 1/1/15 until 1/31/15. Any suggestions ? Oh yeah, I wrote and published thirty pieces in September about black men and police brutality. They can be found at anthony-carter.com

Any chance we can get a post-mortum on the decision process to downsize and reorganize? What was working? What wasn't? Why?

Due to our reorganization and plans for 2015 ONLI STUDIOS is downsizing its program to distribute books not published by ONLI STUDIOS after years of being a distributor and advocate of the Black Age. Also is has downsized its landmark annual convention. For the past four hers it has enjoyed a great relationship with the DuSable Museum selling products in its gift shop and hosting a double tent adoring its annual festival of the arts.

We want to thank and congratulate the indie Black Age publishers that we promoted and distributed along the way. The Black Age movement is the better for you and this process.

Hello Self-Publishers!  I just wanted to take the opportunity to invite those with titles lists in Amazons Kindle Unlimited program to join the Kindle Unlimited Group and list those specific titles here on BSFS.  http://blacksciencefictionsociety.com/group/kindle-unlimited-on-bsfs

Don't see why it couldn't long as you can suspend the reader/viewer's belief as to how it happened.

 Question I've been wracking my brains on today....{Can a 'near death experience' bring forth magic in a character?}

Createspace is excellent if you know how to setup your books in pdf format or know someone who can do so for you cheaply. They have an avenue for 'professional authors' by which you can set everything up for 'nearly free'. If you use their ISBN it will cost you $50 for one. However, it's their ISBN and not yours. If you want ownership of the ISBN, you'll have to pay for one or more.

Hello, I'm new to this coalition. I'm finishing up my second novel and looking around for a POD publisher. I used iUniverse for my first novel but they are getting a little pricy. Anyone have any suggestions on an alternative that has a good track record.

Sleuthing Antimatter...

Two white dwarfs head toward a collision in this artist’s illustration. New research suggests that the Milky Way's preponderance of positrons could come from a specialized type of supernova from colliding low-mass white dwarfs — an explosion that is difficult to detect, but rich in an isotope that generates this kind of antimatter.

Aluna's Encounter: The Fissure

I planted my feet firmly on the ground. I never felt more connected to the planet where I stood than where I was right then in that moment. I took in a large, deep breath. It felt like I was breathing in the essence of crisp fresh snow.

And then I released.

This part of the plateau no one was allowed near. Off to the distance, I could see our city, Sheba, the buildings were made of gold and the streets were littered with diamonds and gems.

I zipped my jacket up and hid behind a large rock and waited.

The reason why people weren't allowed out this far from Sheba was because of the instability of the terrain. The scientists said that our world sometimes would converge with another world; a more dangerous world.

But this terrain was also where the agents came in and out of around this time of the evening. I wanted to see who they were bringing back this time.

A crackling of lightning and static happened…

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
