Hello all,

Thanks for letting me join the group. I'm so excited my first novel will be coming in April. Right now I'm still back and forth with my editor, and I am waiting for the cover to be finished. Are there any individuals here who are editors, good with cover design, and marketing. I have three other novels that I want to publish this year as well

I have a group of 100 members on BlackJunction.com called WritersAuthors&Bloggers Promo. Basically, I want you to post there and promote your works. Only one story a day, same story once a week.

https://blackjunction.com/WritingPromotionGroup'

Show the world of BlackJunction what you've been working on, no matter how old it is! Unless it's awful, in which case, don't share it.

Editing is of utmost importance. I have also started a web page with Weebly. Trying to find as much time as I can to work on that.

I am an editor as well as a writer, and I would be interested in helping edit/proof anyone's work. Editing is an absolutely critical part of the writing process. You can find out more about me and see samples at www.bumbershootwriting.com.

Thus is absolutely true. I proofread each of my manuscripts in excess of 7-8 times all the way through. I still find slight spelling, grammatical, or clarity issues. An editor - one you trust to appreciate your writing style and voice, but at the same time to be tough and constructively critical - is essential for a serious writer.

I work as a script doctor and manuscript editor. I have helped over a hundred fellow writers since 1999.

Ok thanks Wolfgang. Will be searching for an editor!

Comment by H. Wolfgang Porter on September 2, 2016 at 9:13pm

Crystal, you definitely need to get an editor or at the minimum a good proofreader. There's no way you'll catch everything 'cause you're too close to the work. Even when you set it down for a while and come back to it, you'll catch some things but stuff will slip by. An editor's job is to catch stuff and ask questions as to whether you 'mean what you say' on the page and offer suggestions to 'say it' in a manner that will be more succinct to readers.

Thank you Patricia and H. Wolfgang!

You I have some beta readers. At this point I don't have an editor since I am self-publishing... I had to leave a writer's critique group because of how they critiqued.

I will stick with beta readers (and pouring over my work several times) One of them is my closest friend who can be brutally honest. lol.  I feel blessed about that.

Once again thank you!

I get what Wolfgang says completely, having come across some really out there and wild comments on writing sites from people who hadn't read my narrative 'cept under some influence on spec - given I knew what happened and what hadn't in my shared extract.  However, to be fair, I have come across editors worth their weight who helped to transform someone's work to the utmost.  Obviously can be applied or a gift.  Luck of the draw and you need to grow a thick skin and keep your sense of humour ...

We have come so far by faith

Let us not forget those who have gone before us, who have fought the good fight with faith, and courage. Black History Month is due in remembrance of them all, and us today must not allow those torches of courage to ever go out. Kudos to the Black Panther movie, now a superhero movie for us--not one of a "pale like," one that bolts out of a phone booth wearing a flying like red and blue cape. Blessings to you all!

SKYCITY TALKRADIO

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
