The amphibious race we first encountered had developed advanced cities under the oceans of the planet. They were definitely humanoid but upon closer examination it appeared their evolutionary track was almost totally separate from the two land species we encountered. Although they were not space faring, it appeared they were the oldest species on the planet and their advanced use of technology had enabled them to do things with the molecular structure of water that defied our most advanced sciences. One example is that they could create substances that were solid and rock-like in structure and appearance that were composed entirely of water. Although they were reluctant to divulge how they did it, they were always willing to lend their expertise to any water world discoveries of the company. The ridge on their forehead seemed to be the center point of their advanced telepathy communication attributes although they could also speak audibly to the land dwelling races or off world visitors to their planet.
