"The Nina Simone Illustration" by Dan Lish (Ink and Digital, NFS) "The Nina Simone illustration was inspired by hersong 'Funkier than a Mostquito's Tweeter' - for me, a B-Boy Classic. Her face being the main focal point, this gave me achance to explore patterns and the depiction of energy around her and the Mosquito man gluggling from buckets of crud. Thepiano depicts her inner-struggles with the effects of Bipolar, the social constructs at the time, the music business andher personal relationships."
