Also, would you follow a book with a political, social, and racial edge to it. To some extent, it would definitely be radical, but it would address the world's social ills or is that too deep for comics.

Have you read Astro City. The writer is not black, but the story is pretty good. And have you heard of Stormbringers. Artwork is great.

It was sincere. I'm a big comic book fan...HUGE collection, but I've seldom seen good comics where the main characers are black.
Either the story is terrible, the character isn't compelling or (and this is the usual problem) the artwork sucks.
There have been a few good ones. One or two of the Milestone comics where mid level. But thats about it.

Oh that's right! I read what I think was the first issue of Martha W. in a comic shop (I know they hate folks like me, but I'd already spent the budget on too many books). Did they ever put that into a graphic novel?

You know, I thought about putting Hardware as my favorite comic but there just was a little something that put Blood Syndicate over the edge. It made me step back and look at my view of comics about black folks.

Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
