Profile Information

About Me:
I absolutely live and breath Black Sci-Fi Fantasy/African History and Culture. It is a prodigious passion of mine to read, view and visualize US.

Seeing and helping to facillitate edifying African/Black Images is a life long goal of mine.

I started reading Greek and Norse mythology as a child. When I was transitioning from middle school to high, I had an epiphany. 'Where are we?', I asked myself. 'Is there such a thing as African mythology?'
From there I started spending my free time in the library reading all the books on African mytholgy I could find and haven't looked back.

My brother, friends and I used to create our own Black comics books. I still have some of the material.

Due to time and resources I can't do everything I want within the genre. I used to collect comics, now I only buy them on occasion. I used to play D&D( I only ever played with other Brothers and Sisters, my brothers and friends at home and a small group of folks at a HBCU when I was there). I still collect the rulebooks and keep updated on things going on though.

Now, I mostly read sci-fi/fantasy, watch movies and play video games. I am an avid WoW player.I play lots of MMOs and RTS games.

One day after I have won the Guiness Book award for biggest procrastinator, I will start writing, something I really look forward to doing.

Most of all, I desire to find a Sister who shares some of my passion in this genre and we live happily ever after.

Give me the day and I will fashion a rainbow, each color healing a malady of humankind,

Give me a week and  I will explore the galaxies tranversing white dwarves, black holes and gluons,

Give me a lifetime and I will Love Prodigiously, Fiercely, Sincerely, Unconditionally.

The LA rebellion: when black film-makers took on the world – and won

Posted on April 13, 2015 at 5:09pm 0 Comments

Forged in the white heat of Vietnam and black-liberation struggles of the late 1960s, UCLA’s radical film-making movement paved the way for black directors. As a new retrospective starts at Tate Modern, one of the original participants recalls how they started…

400 Years Headstart and Advantages

Posted on January 30, 2015 at 2:02pm 0 Comments

The fact that this is a Sci Fi site means that I limit my very strong and very radical African-centered ideologies to within the scope of Sci Fi and Fantasy, which is rightly so.

This video is an exception to that.

I see a lot of Black folks supporting a narrative that we are all the same as humans and that hard work and quality will trump discrimination and a host of other false opinions. Today is one of those days where it supremely annoys me to hear it, hence…

Viability of targeting a Black audience.

Posted on November 13, 2014 at 12:30am 2 Comments

I like to use the phrases “Thinking within and along the circle; an ever expanding and evolving circle”. I use this instead of “thinking outside the box” because whether it is outside or inside, “the box” is still using someone else paradigm.

With that being said, I want to address Black Sci Fi/Sword and Soul/Steamfunk and making money by appealing to a target audience; a primarily Black one. When we examine the effects of Black culture and creators within the entertainment…

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
