About Me:
I'm a well-traveled, multi-lingualish, part-time stay at home dad. Grew up in the 70's & 80's between Berkeley, CA and rural OK - how's that for a cross-cultural experience?

Have many degrees under my belt, though most are fairly useless.

Currently in Seattle, plugging away on my keyboard between drops of rain & drippings of coffee.

Written two novels, one self published, the other... not.

Free for the next couple of days: my book

Posted on December 7, 2015 at 6:00pm 2 Comments

My job went away a few months back and am working towards finding another one. Still it’s the season of giving, so I wanted to share something; all I have is this little kinda-corny ebook I published on amazon, so I thought “Hell, I can give it away - someone might enjoy it...” Here ya go - free for the next few days, across multiple countries.

My ebook, Jasmine Cowl & the Salagi Talking Stick, is on sale - only Only 99¢

Posted on September 14, 2015 at 10:50am 0 Comments

Just a little FYI/ heads up. I'm hoping to get enough sales that my wife will be ok with me actually writing a sequel...

The blurb:

Jasmine Cowl is pissed. Fifteen years ago, the young African American woman and a group of her friends had managed to save the world. Now she's stuck in a boring, mundane life, in spite of the fact that she works for the CIA... not that CIA, the other one. Saddled with a family, a job, and the PTA, she thinks she's found a new…

I wrote a book. I started it six years ago and just self-published it. Not a big deal, it happens all the time, I know. I wrote it because at the time i started, I wasn't seeing much diversity in the realm of sci-fi/speculative/fantasy etc outside of Butler (whose work I find fantastic).

I decided to try and write something, ostensibly for my daughter so she would know there were books out there for people who look like her. The book is not a kids book - not at all - there's…

Jason - I am in Seattle as well. Look forward to hearing more about you and from you.

Consider visiting my Tuesday Writers Meetup. Details can be found in the events section of the website. The virtual meetup allows for vigorous conversation about writing. It is also acceptable to have bouts of silence while working on story and character points in the company of others

Tunable Quantum States...

When the researchers turn an external magnetic field in different directions (indicated with arrows), they change the orientation of the linear electron flow above the kagome (six-fold) magnet, as seen in these electron wave interference patterns on the surface of a topological quantum kagome magnet. Each pattern is created by a particular direction of the external magnetic field applied on the sample.

Republicans: Founded in 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and modernizers, the Republican Party quickly surpassed the Whig Party as the principal opposition to the Democratic Party. In 1860, it came to power with the election of Abraham Lincoln to the presidency. The party presided over the American Civil War and Reconstruction and was harried by internal factions and scandals toward the end of the 19th century. Today, the party supports a conservative platform (from an American political perspective), with further foundations in supply-side fiscal policies,…

At 2:30 a.m. EDT (0630 UTC) on Sept. 11, the MODIS instrument aboard NASA’s Aqua satellite looked at Hurricane Florence in infrared light. MODIS found coldest cloud top temperatures around the eye, as cold as or colder than minus 80 degrees (yellow) Fahrenheit (minus 112 degrees Celsius). Surrounding the eye were thick rings of powerful storms with cloud tops as cold as or colder than minus 70 degrees (red) Fahrenheit (minus 56.6 degrees Celsius). Credit: NASA/NRL…

SKYCITY TALKRADIO

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
