Feeling Good Today!

Don't know what it is, but I feel like I'm vibing on some intergallactic groove. Literally, my dredlocks feel like they have static in them, like I'm connecting to some inter-planetary S.O.S.

Maybe it's just Obama taking oath tomorrow, or I'm really feeling myself.

Updates

Posted on October 30, 2013 at 9:28pm 0 Comments

I keep forgetting that I have a blog page on here!

I just joined the board of the Carl Brandon Society, so I'm excited about working with the organization that gave me so much in 2012.

Recently I was told that my short story "Throb" will be included in the new groundbreaking speculative fiction anthology "Longhidden". It comes out in 2014.

Also, my short story "Throwback" is in the new Genesis 2 Anthology. (Support!)

Clarion Writers Workshop

Posted on December 5, 2011 at 12:13am 0 Comments

So the application period has opened.

I'm trying to decide which stories to submit, and putting out positive energy that there is a spot open for me next summer.

I almost feel that if I get into the workshop next year, that nothing else I ever do will equal that level of excitement. I've been putting off applying for years, but now I feel is the time to do it. Stop worrying if I'm good enough. All I can do is write the stories that I know how to tell, stories that can only come…

Got Rope?

A little morning bondage.

I've been collecting BDSM images to finish a new draft of my "Bitches Brew" script. Whenever I work on a story, a script, or a poem, I collect images that I put into my scrapbook. It's kinda like creating my own one sheet/movie poster/book cover. I then put together a sound track of music that reflects the soundscape/tone I'm trying to create in my work. As I write, the music and images transport me, and then I become the characters I write… Continue

On the Grind in '09 Part 1

Posted on January 25, 2009 at 2:30pm 4 Comments

So I've committed myself to working hard for my screenwriting organization, (The Organization of Black Screenwriters), and screening films for the Los Angeles Film Festival, but I have to make time for my own writing, especially my short stories.

My goal this year is to take weekend trips out of town for my own personal writing retreats. I find that I am most inspired when I am in a new place, or sitting in church. (Not that my church is boring, but Rev Michael Beckwith of Agape… Continue

future dwelling technology

Posted by Arnold L. Johnson on October 19, 2017 at 10:07am 0 Comments

OK, my latest thinking. The quonset has dormers on each side which is connected to stacked shipping containers. The sea-cons can be porches or room expansion. The quonset ends are flat so you can attach dome-like extensions. I used an octagonal shaped dome in keeping with standard 90 degree building technology. And yes, you don't have to use shipping containers, but they are ready-made steel frames. And you could just as well dock your tiny house on the side of the quonset.

Someone asked me what kind of people would live in my dwellings. I am a bungalow person, smallish but bigger than a tiny house. How to live in a smallish house is living in your mind instead of living by your body. The body requires space and stuff, both of which can be costly. But you can do whatever you imagine,…

SKYCITY TALKRADIO

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
