About Me:
Like the Griots of West Africa, African descended sci-fi writers have a story to tell. In my cultural eyes, and cultural identity I create heroes and heroines that resemble myself and those that have mentored me; whether directly or indirectly. Midnight writers such as myself do not wait for the pillars society to endorsement, or their stamp of approval, or their credentials. Because in doing so one may be subject to extreme limitations, and restrictions not only within the imagination, but the taboos placed on controversial topics may be a hindrance. Midnight writers wait for no one to set the standards as to what is considered a literary art form. The Griots of West Africa had no limitations when it came to the messages that were needed to be conveyed. I am the modern day Griot and a child of technology. My ancestors truly marveled at how things are done. Our keyboards have become the drums of the village. The World Wide Web encompasses an entire host of villages; it is our keyboards that announce the events in the various aspects of our existences. I give praise to those griots that have transitioned into the land of the ancestors; even from beyond they communicate their stories to those who are vibrating on the right frequency. I’m their voice. My keyboard is the drum reaching out to you inviting you to open your imagination to the unbelievable, the unimaginable

Sometimes lucid dreaming will shift your reality into another existence. Even though you hear the clock on the wall ticking and the traffic through your open wind with the breeze on your face. Somehow your consciousness has shifted behind closed eyelids now your are residing in a distant world of spirits in a place comprised of mostly water elementals who traversed the surface. These beings were elements within elements that created their own individual realities; multi-dimensional… Continue

There was a huge resistance movement when itunes and mp3s came out because artists feared people would steal their music, and people did. And JK Rowling is still resisting the transition even though all of her books have been pirated into ebooks...I still prefer many "dead tree" books over ebooks.I just think that we have to be flexible for our readers by giving them options.

Damnatio memoriae...

Damnatio memoriae is a modern Latin phrase meaning "condemnation of memory", i.e., that a person is to be excluded from official accounts. There are and have been many routes to damnatio, including the destruction of depictions, the removal of names from inscriptions and documents, and even large-scale rewritings of history.

In Latin, the term damnatio…

If collisions between small projectiles -- protons (p), deuterons (d), and helium-3 nuclei (3He) -- and gold nuclei (Au) create tiny hot spots of quark-gluon plasma, the pattern of particles picked up by the detector should retain some 'memory' of each projectile's initial shape. Measurements from the PHENIX experiment match these predictions with very strong correlations between the initial geometry and the final flow patterns. The Diversity Track & Black Science Fiction Society Back For Dragoncon 2019

I just got news this week that the Diversity Track will be back for 2019 at DragonCon. I'm excited to be invited back for another groundbreaking event. Everyone associated with the first one this year knocked it out of the park! I could not ask for better volunteers, guests, photographers, moderators and participants.

Assault of the Mainstream

Posted by Turtel Onli on December 6, 2018 at 8:10am 1 Comment

Now that the Mainstream has tried and failed to take the life force outta the growing indie-Black age movement with its "afro-futuristic" blockbuster along with its here today-gone tomorrow great token Hero of Harlem, who among us is really about winning at  this challenge and profiting from the opportunities it presents?

Their best efforts to corner and control the Black Age is my proof that we are actually winning in this war for minds and market shares.....inspite of addictive  brand loyalty...the Black On Black boycott....and culturally based anti-intellectualisms.  I often present on panels.....over the years since San Diego,,,,,Wizards.......C2E2.....on the Black Age or diversity....  Usually with a lame unprofessional uninformed person in charge.  Each time some hater stands up to taut how racist the Black Age is and how he of she gets so much more outta Manga/Anime'.

Sort of like all of the Black folks that spent 8 years complaining about…

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
