My take on the killer orca goes a little like this:

Orca1: I'm through with this gig. I want out.

Orca2: Yeah, this is getting old . . .

Orca3: But they give us food.

Orca1: As if that were enough. I've been eyeing some of those

seals in the morning show . . . they look damned tasty. I'm outta here.

I'm not doing a thing they say for the next week. That will make them

think about releasing…

Matrix Controversy...What's the deal?

Can anyone fill me in on the deal concerning true ownership of the script (or charged "theft" of it) by a black woman sci fi writer? What is the scoop? Most importantly, what are the opinions and facts by some of our members on this site. Last I read, the author filing for the charge did not show in court and the case was dismissed contrary to other reports saying she won the case. What is the deal? Thanks

Gems of Memory (Revisited)

It was not so long ago that I posted this poem, but I wish to revisit it because it represents something special.

Loss of a loved one can be sorely devastating, and it may take years to come to terms with it. Someone once told me that the pain of a loss doesn't

diminish, but rather someone develops the strength and endurance…

The Book Cave Episode #62

But before you listen, a word of explanation:

This interview was supposed to be about both "Dillon And The Voice of Odin" and "Dillon

And The Legend of The Golden Bell" with the emphasis being on the

latter. But at the time of the scheduled recording Ric Croxton had only

read "Voice of Odin" and his co-host was unavailable. So we decided to

go ahead and talk about "Voice of Odin" and we'll be doing another

episode to be recorded on the 25th of this month where we'll… Continue

War Made Easy

After watching A People's History of American Empire by Howard Zinn (which was shared by Djeli) and then sharing the video with my older brother, he recommended that I watch War Made Easy. I tend to put off reading or watching the things my brother recommends, but with A People's History... so fresh in my mind, I simply couldn't bring myself to offer up the usual set of lame excuses.

I'm honestly glad I took…

Darkess and the Elder Soul - Battle Cries

o mistress of the shadows,

our master has struck upon a comely endeavor

his constitution, I fear, will not withstand the challenge

and what say you vaelera?

the master's soul pines for amelioration,

o dark one

a fair one has caught its contemplation

maestra, influence on my sovereign wanes,

Augustus Freeman AKA Icon Gets His Own Film starring...

Posted by Joe Pledger on October 8, 2018 at 2:20am 0 Comments

DC's answer to the film 'Black Panther' should be 'Icon'!  Starring Denzel Washington as Augustus Freeman and either Zendaya or Amandla Stenberg as Rocket,  'Icon' is the story of how an alien crash lands in a cotton field in 1839 and adopts the appearance of the first person that comes into contact with it being a slave woman.  He lives through American history leaving behind a legacy as his next begotten's namesake arriving in the present day as August Freeman IV.  Convinced of his otherworldly abilities to better his race by a teenager name Rocket,  Augustus Freeman becomes the superhero 'Icon'.

The illustration is of an actor named John Garrett.…

SKYCITY TALKRADIO

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
