Once upon a time in the far away island nation of Xonira, Dillon was instrumental in halting a bloody revolution and handing the reins of power over to Lord Chancellor C'jai. Section 31: Mission Angst

Kenneth Dumaka, Section 31 agent in training, looked around the vast, gaudily adorned Hall of Light, more to detract from his increasing unease than to observe. The Hall was a perfect replica of a typical Andorran place of assemblage, with its sharply arched ceiling, and thin, spiral-faceted columns lining a transluscent perimeter. The difference lay in location. This Hall floated in space, encased in nine square miles of thick, tri-alloy superstructure.

The station was called…

Evil Walks. Part 8.

Bill Green felt nervous as he was driving his black ford SUV down Liberty Avenue in the city of Pittsburgh. The young black male took his right hand from the steering wheel to loosen two more buttons on his blue shirt in order to cool off a bit more. On a hot summer day like this he was starting to regret wearing his black jeans instead of a pair of shorts. His black sneakers were causing his feet to sweat. Bill could have dressed in a more cooler…

ramblings of an enslave in retro america

Most of the people I associate with are of average intelligence. They work, play, some go to church. I probably am more spiritually involved than a lot, but maybe not. We live in our dreams, our hopes and our prayers. That is the point. We live in fantasy, in dreams, in spiritual constructs so much that reality is redefined. The $25 tennis shoe is bought for $278.37 because of some endorsement from a guy who could do the same feat in brogans if he had to. Buy the shoe, embrace the dream.…

Life imitates art.

Wikipedia: Anti-mimesis is a philosophical position that holds the direct opposite of mimesis. Its most notable proponent is Oscar Wilde, who held in his 1889 essay The Decay of Lying that "Life imitates Art far more than Art imitates Life". In the essay, written as…

6He to 6Li...

Decays of atomic nuclei are potential sources of information on fundamental phenomena occurring in the quantum world. Unfortunately it is a rather difficult task to model such processes. Yet National Centre for Nuclear Research (NCBJ) physicists have successfully simulated the process of neutron→proton conversion in singly ionized 6He atom nucleus and correctly…

I Still Have My Slide Rule...

July 20, 1969 was a Sunday. NASA interrupted my cartoons on Saturday. I didn't mind. My parents were transfixed as well. The world east of US52 in Winston-Salem, NC seemed to slow; each moment savored, each conversation focused on this one event. Unlike the social stratification we "enjoyed," we weren't…

If collisions between small projectiles -- protons (p), deuterons (d), and helium-3 nuclei (3He) -- and gold nuclei (Au) create tiny hot spots of quark-gluon plasma, the pattern of particles picked up by the detector should retain some 'memory' of each projectile's initial shape. Measurements from the PHENIX experiment match these predictions with very strong correlations between the initial geometry and the final flow patterns. The Diversity Track & Black Science Fiction Society Back For Dragoncon 2019

I just got news this week that the Diversity Track will be back for 2019 at DragonCon. I'm excited to be invited back for another groundbreaking event. Everyone associated with the first one this year knocked it out of the park! I could not ask for better volunteers, guests, photographers, moderators and participants.

Assault of the Mainstream

Posted by Turtel Onli on December 6, 2018 at 8:10am 1 Comment

Now that the Mainstream has tried and failed to take the life force outta the growing indie-Black age movement with its "afro-futuristic" blockbuster along with its here today-gone tomorrow great token Hero of Harlem, who among us is really about winning at  this challenge and profiting from the opportunities it presents?

Their best efforts to corner and control the Black Age is my proof that we are actually winning in this war for minds and market shares.....inspite of addictive  brand loyalty...the Black On Black boycott....and culturally based anti-intellectualisms.  I often present on panels.....over the years since San Diego,,,,,Wizards.......C2E2.....on the Black Age or diversity....  Usually with a lame unprofessional uninformed person in charge.  Each time some hater stands up to taut how racist the Black Age is and how he of she gets so much more outta Manga/Anime'.

Sort of like all of the Black folks that spent 8 years complaining about…

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
