Aquarius at Noonday

An essay I posted yesterday: Aquarius at Noonday. An observation born of my experience as a physics & math teacher; as previously a process, device, manufacturing and product engineer. I consider myself -- a man of a 'certain age' -- one of Sputnik's Children. My fear is this generation's Sputnik moment may be [to use a track metaphor] after the gun, 40 meters to the rear of the rest of the…

Black Hole Cygnus X-1

Black Hole Cygnus X-1 is a double-star system (really, the majority of black holes are found as such systems, literally one collapsed star cannibalizing the other). I have a link to Space.com and a video embed from You Tube at the link above.

The term "black hole" was coined by John A. Wheeler, while a professor at the University of Texas at Austin. Read more on Dr. Wheeler in this…

2011 Winding Down....

I've been out of pocket at the 'Society for a minute and apologize for not giving my usual drops of info for my blog and the groups I sponsor. It's been a rough year on the homefront, but in the meantime I managed to knock out a short-story epic, some video productions and getting my third novel 'ready for…

Call for 100 African-American Authors!

Greetings and salutations to one and all.

Examiner.com's National African-American History Examiner put out a call for 100 African-American authors to list on Examiner.com. The list is first come, first serve; last I checked there were about 40 slots available. It would be great to have black sci-fi, fantasy, horror, and sword & soul listed.

Race Matters: Showing Race or Racial Issues Is Important

Skinwalker So, I like it when an author puts race in front of my eyes.  I enjoy visualizing what a character looks like, race and all.  When it's done correctly, the experience can deepen the reader's relationship with the character.  There are some people who say that showing race in this way is racist.  They enjoy reading or writing raceless, race free, or characters of color with little or no physical description. I contend that this approach is racist. …

Patient G (please critize you might not understand unless youre a college football fan)

In the strangest coincidences just as the lightening illuminated the dark room the large screen tv on the wall came to life. The light from tv emancipated the single man in the room from the darkness. He wore a lab coat that only slightly exposed a white shirt and red tie. On his face a pair of circular lens glasses that had a hard time accommodating his nervous facial expressions.

On the screen appeared five men whose faces completely shrouded in darkness and were only represented by the… Continue

The Enslavement of the "Black Art Movement"

Posted by Turtel Onli on September 19, 2018 at 8:40am 0 Comments

During the heady days of the Black Cultural revolution in Chicago, there were a lot of art dealing with this hope and concept.  The mainstream galleries, Black art curators, historians and critics mostly stayed away form it.  Then once certain major players in this died in came the White parasites.  One a college professor the other a Jewish art dealer.  Both swooped in making deals to sell works the other building a entire career path for herself.  Now they are the accepted go to authorities of this movement. That they treat as a dead slave on their plantations. "The Black Art Movement" now produces no revenue or power for the people it was supposed to benefit.

And all of this happened due top the Black on Black boycott that allowed non=Blacks to walk in a take it to the bank.

I plan to write about this and be sure, in my life time this will not happen to the growing Black Age of Comics Movement.

Tunable Quantum States...

When the researchers turn an external magnetic field in different directions (indicated with arrows), they change the orientation of the linear electron flow above the kagome (six-fold) magnet, as seen in these electron wave interference patterns on the surface of a topological quantum kagome magnet. Each pattern is created by a particular direction of the external magnetic field applied on the sample.

Republicans: Founded in 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and modernizers, the Republican Party quickly surpassed the Whig Party as the principal opposition to the Democratic Party. In 1860, it came to power with the election of Abraham Lincoln to the presidency. The party presided over the American Civil War and Reconstruction and was harried by internal factions and scandals toward the end of the 19th century. Today, the party supports a conservative platform (from an American political perspective), with further foundations in supply-side fiscal policies,…

MODIS found coldest cloud top temperatures around the eye, as cold as or colder than minus 80 degrees (yellow) Fahrenheit (minus 112 degrees Celsius). Surrounding the eye were thick rings of powerful storms with cloud tops as cold as or colder than minus 70 degrees (red) Fahrenheit (minus 56.6 degrees Celsius). Credit: NASA/NRL…

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t.
