Product Review Updates #4

Occasionally, I will alert fellow members to product updates by creators I have reviewed in the past year or so.

Here's what I found this week since I had extra time because it RAINED TOO MUCH!!!

  • Chessmasters by Insane Comics is gone. Even their back issues on Comixology are gone too. I was waiting for #6 to come out before buying the whole set. It's a shame. I think the writing crew is still active though at their…

Graphic Justice

Graphic Justice is a blog that covers/studies legality and justice within comics and the comic industry. They run conventions and submit academic papers on topics related to comics every year.

They are always looking for submissions, and so I've decided to submit a legal concept article to their site. In my first book Super Humanity, the characters face a tribunal because they executed a prisoner during the Battle of Cleveland. They won because of legal…

The Truth Always Surfaces

I remember a line from the X-Files. One of the Navajo characters said something like "truth never stays buried. it always finds a way to the surface."

In this news article, literally.…

Need music for the show

Greeting and Salutations, fellow Blerds!

I'm currently hosting the Talk About it Tuesdays program and I'd like to add some music to the program.

So far, I've been winging it with various tracks from the YT audio library.

If you're a musician, or just musically inclined (which I am not), then I want to make you an offer.

Send me some voice-free/background tunes that I can add to my review, and I can credit your work and put your website in the video…

Wild Month at the DMZ

I live in South Korea and it's been a weird month at the DMZ/related to the DMZ.

First, there was the Louisiana guy who tried to break into North Korea. He got caught.

Then there was wild DMZ escape by the North Korean staff sergeant you've undoubtfully read about in the news. He came with ringworms/roundworms about 10 inches long and several bullet wounds.

ComicCon in Seoul!

So this year marks the first time ComicCon, the US comics convention, came to Seoul, South Korea. The good Korea (Pyeongyang is the bad one).

"So, who was there, how was it, did you get any good pics?" you're probably wondering.

Lots of shows, not much for the English language viewer. Many of the exhibitors spoke a bit of English, and few were working on English Language…

The Queen of Dark

An interesting article about 'The Queen of Dark' a famous South Sudanese model living in Minnesota. You can read about it here. http://tinyurl.com/yb7on2ws

When I wrote Super Humanity, I included some jokes about the characters' blackness and American society's almost 'rejection' of those with very dark skin from the entertainment industry. It's become a running joke in some ways. You've heard them all before- too black for…

Jobs Jobs Jobs!

A member of the expat group I'm in posted a humongous list of remote jobs.

Sites similar to Fiverr and online teaching gigs, things like that.

Some of the sites are free, some are paid, and some are a combination (pay for greater access, pay to post a gig, etc)

The idea for you, the budding writer/artist, would be to join one of the 58 sites and see if you can attract any work for whatever price you want to set.

I live overseas, so this is…

THE UNDERGROUND BY ROXANNE BLAND

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t. After all, just because she’s an interstellar assassin doesn’t mean she’s guilty.
