blacks in space

In the Sci-fi Classics 50 DVD movie pack I just watched a 1960 movie called Assignment Outer Space by Antonio Margheriti. A somewhat slow movie but striking as a black guy fillied the screen, Archie Savage. Before Star Trek I didn't think we made it into space.
