So I read this article about Herbalife and how they have had legal issues. For those of you who don't know, Herbalife is a company selling health products and nutrition supplements. They also are a Multi Level Marketing company.
I may lose some people on here, but I'm saying it anyway. Please don't come emailing and PM'ing me and calling me about you have a hot business opportunity that you want me to get in on so we can all be rich together and then tell me about Herbalife, 5Linx, USANA, Legal Shield or whatever MLM program is hot at the moment. I'm not interested. If you're making legal money to support yourself and your family, then I'm honestly glad for you.
However, in my personal hard learned experience, a lot of those MLM programs are filled with pyramid scheme pitfalls that can mess with your finances, your relationships with friends and family, your community reputation and so forth if you are not careful.
I personally know of instances where people have scammed people out of money and skipped town, leaving everyone else holding the bag. There are some reputable ones out there, I suppose. Your mileage may vary. But I'm not trying to get into any of them. Are we clear? Don't feel pressured by anyone to get in on these programs.
Also, there is no quick legal way to get rich or financially independent (unless you were born rich or win the lottery or had a very good weekend at the casinos). Anyone telling you otherwise is lying. Pay down your debts, clip coupons, look for sales, give back to your community, build up a savings account and make wise long term investments that generate income. These are some of the keys to financial success, which I'm working on right now. Read the book The Millionaire Next Door.
There are ways to generate side incomes without joining up with a group or program, Google is your friend. Again, I'm not hating on anyone. I'm just really careful. Thank you for your time and consideration.
