Saw that you posted this and went in search of a few links that might help the move the discussion along. As the proprietor of a publishing imprint that was registered in 2013, I'm truly interested in what others think of the company, as well.

Bloomberg Business Company Overview of InkShares, Inc.

The Wall Street Journal - Speakeasy "‘Star Wars’ Writer Gary Whitta Journeys to the Future of Publishing"

Digital Book World Nerdist Launches Collection on Inkshares

GIGAOM "Inkshares wants to create a hybrid of traditional book publisher and crowdfunded digital platform"

Comic Con 2015 Event - "The Crowd: How Creatives Are Using New Means to Connect with Their Audience" - which I provide merely as an aside.

I suppose my questions are: who's the publisher of record? You or Inkshares? Who owns the rights (including copyright)? You or Inkshares? I did a search (albeit a quick one) and didn't find this information.

Thanks for giving me more things to consider.
Is there independent black owned publishing companies out there that new science fiction or graphic novel writers should take a closer look at?

SUGGESTIONS:  Check out the Science Fiction and Fantasy Writers of America Website.  They have a section titled, "Writers Beware."   Also, write or email the Library of Congress Section on Copyrights.  Request them to send to you the information on Copyrights.  Many lawyers have this data and could be charging their clients money for information that is free to the public. It is a large folder on copyrights with the book on copyrights. You can copyright toys, music, and hundreds of other types of date.  There are at least twenty to thirty types of detail copyright information that no one should be paying lawyers for.  These are taxpayers money producing this information.  Donot be so concern seeking out African-American Publishers.  Seek out publishers who are seeking new writers. Years ago, there were African-Americans who were published by Black Publishers and never received royalty payments.  I advised never submit manuscripts to any publishing company that donot pay royalty payments.  Remember the color of money is GREEN.  Thirdly,  try to attend writing conferences of three to five days of your areas of specialty.  Since I am into fantasy and science fiction conventions, those are the ones I try to attend.  There are agents, publishers, editors looking for new authors.  In todays compettions the more manuscripts you have the more notice and higher advances you may attain.  Also, contact the Library of Congress and request the large folder on "copyrights."  You should never pay for free information on copyrights when in fact this large folder is funded by taxpayers money.  I make sure that I receive this folder every other year.  Again, when you are not in the know, people will or can take economic advantage over you.  Fourthly, GOD gave us these talents and Brothers and Sisters must do research in the areas of their specialty.  I will be attending the World Fantasy Convention next year.  There is limited membership attendance due tot he facts that there will be agents, editors, publishers there along with authors.  I can go on and on but time is now limited for me.  Take care everyone.

A group of researchers recently observed a mysterious infrared emission coming from near a pulsar in NASA's Hubble Space telescope data. This animation depicts one possible source of the emission: a "fallback disk" or a disk that formed from materials of the parent star falling back into the neutron star after a supernova. The Enslavement of the "Black Art Movement"

Posted by Turtel Onli on September 19, 2018 at 8:30am 0 Comments

During the heady days of the Black Cultural revolution in Chicago, there was a lot of art dealing with this hope and concept.  The mainstream galleries, Black art curators, historians and critics mostly stayed away from it.  Then once certain major players in this died in came the White parasites.  One a college professor the other a Jewish art dealer.  Both swooped in making deals to sell works, with the other building a entire career path for herself.  Now they are the accepted go-to authorities of this movement. That they treat as a dead slave on their plantations. "The Black Art Movement" now produces no revenue or power for the people it were supposed to benefit.

And all of this happened due to the "Black on Black boycott" that allowed non-Blacks to walk in a take it to the bank.  WHen Black do not support and endorse its own positives others come in later to reap its resources, power & wealth.

A new uncertainty principle holds that quantum objects can be at two temperatures at once, which is similar to the famous Schrödinger's cat thought experiment, in which a cat in a box with a radioactive element can be both alive and dead. Credit: Shutterstock

When the researchers turn an external magnetic field in different directions (indicated with arrows), they change the orientation of the linear electron flow above the kagome (six-fold) magnet, as seen in these electron wave interference patterns on the surface of a topological quantum kagome magnet. Each pattern is created by a particular direction of the external magnetic field applied on the sample.

Republicans: Founded in 1854 by anti-slavery expansion activists and modernizers, the Republican Party quickly surpassed the Whig Party as the principal opposition to the Democratic Party. In 1860, it came to power with the election of Abraham Lincoln to the presidency. The party presided over the American Civil War and Reconstruction and was harried by internal factions and scandals toward the end of the 19th century. Today, the party supports a conservative platform (from an American political perspective), with further foundations in supply-side fiscal policies,…

Life as alpha of a werewolf pack is anything but predictable. But even Parker Berenson is surprised by the latest twist: he’s fallen in love with a space alien. Problem is, he suspects Melera, his sexy new flame, might be the serial killer terrorizing Seattle. Or maybe she isn’t.
