As a man married to a woman who was born and raised in South Africa I understand just about every point that Nelson Mandela could make and then some... If not then I am so fired right now and need to pack my things up and get out! Lol
Anywho...
The point of this thread is even though we as a people have experienced various forms of apartheid be it civil rights related or black militant inspired we have to question many of our own motives after the fact!
There is a drive among many of our own for some type of separation from white people among others where we go for self which is cool up to a point!
The problem is that along the way many of us have either engaged in or have regular ongoing relationships with people not deemed to be of black origins!
Some of us have married interracially not to mention that there are white folks consistently involved with black empowerment movements or black culture in general!
A true separation would cause upheavel for any individual family that was heavily invested in a multicultural society!
The financial costs alone to divide persons by gene pool would require a whole lot of scientific paperwork and headaches trying to sort out who qualified as black enough via the one drop of black blood parameters!
Not only would certain basketball teams really suck all of sudden overnight but any exclusive rights to gains made in the splitting society would require extreme legal teams to sort all of the jargon to make things lawfully right!
The military itself would suffer huge losses not to mention one side would probably be vulnerable to third party attacks not having the full support... I mean like N!&&@ you on your own good luck with that!
This is a small world but large enough to accommodate all of us either together if not in an estranged situation but to have a total split from any or everyone not of your own perceived kind would read like a disaster black sci-fi novel!
When you watch the Olympics you see traditional countries where most if not all their members look all or nearly the same where as the United States has a rainbow coalition of athletes from every background bringing multiple talents to the table!
Once the medal count is tallied you will find that historically the U.S. is either at or near the top of the heap and even in sports where America does not traditionally do well recruitment can be intensified and next thing you know we dominate those events too!
When you observe most black militant organizations and their lack of funding it can be tied to an exclusivity from other revenue streams that they either shun or flat out burn bridges with to stay pro black!
This is great if you have little or no plans to grow but as sure as Martin Luther King had a bigger following than Malcolm X any day of the week and beyond the grave it shows that sharing with the rest of the world equals greater prosperity in any era!
Trade... Wartime allied nations... Embassies... Shared technology... Refugees... Immigration... Hospitals... Education...
Yes, you can have your own thing but forbidding others from others backgrounds from enjoying the black experience has proven to be the complete opposite of prosperity!
As Africa emerges after the smoke clears from World War 3 or whatever happens globally to change the balance of power many of us may have to decide if we will allow others to share in that nuclear fallout free beachfront property or be sore winners in the process!
If one day the world can come to you because you have all the wisdom backed by excellent solutions to foreign and domestic problems why would you hog all the wealth and not be that beacon of light in such a troubled world!
You know who you are... Do the right thing!!!
