Hey guys and dolls: I've love to know what your thoughts are on the issues of gender/race/sexuality as portrayed the Pirates of the Carribean movies.I really dug the character "Calypso" played by a sister, and that she had such a powerful role (is this a commentary on how Hollywood sees Black women?)But I hated the ending.Are strong women "destined" to be alone? Is that the movie's message?
