As other media entities like Manga/Anime, Bollywood, Pixar etc. etc. continue to rise are we getting left behind? With billions of dollars made off of comic to movie adaptations are we spinning our wheels? In the movie Purple Rain the club owner dissed Prince by telling him nobody understands your music but yourself! Will we look back at this time and see it as a jump off point for bigger and better things or will our own personal agendas be the downfall of us all? This is obviously a subtle response to another forum, but if a potential investor of African origin sought to license and merchandise our ideas are we too head strong to agree to some change in the way we present our work? I have been to other forums and watched pages of blogs go by on every possible subject inside and outside the industry. Should our imaginations bring joy to the masses or be hardcore rants? Either we are going to have an inviting spirit or push people away for good. Whether we work for or with other powers that be or self publish our work should shine and not glare. Men may lie...women may lie...but the numbers always tell the truth!
