THIS IS CSI WITH PARANORMALS ARRRGGGGH!!! Paranormals being run as a special police unit against other paranormals is an abomination. I'm so sick of stories with uncle tom mutants/paranormals fighting other mutants/paranormals for the privilege of receiving rewards from their government masters. WHYOWHYOWHY! The slavish adoption of stereotypical archetypes is (while normal for the SyFy channel) destructive to the plot, the arc of the story and dialogue: silent goverment master is dictatorial, the scientist leader who give direct orders to the alphas is jewish, the black guy has super strength but blows the top of his head off after using his powers for a couple of minutes, the young white boy is a smart aleck, horny adolescent who nobody can shut up, the white girl is pretty, self centered, selfish and completely amoral and its cool that she controls peoples thoughts and actions without their permission, the latina/hispanic girl is too conscientious to bend a rule or act on an independent idea, the young white man is a marksman/loner who reluctantly agrees to hangout with the team to learn how to refine his powers.
