  Amazon Studios is looking for one or more writers or writing teams to rewrite "It Came in the Mail," a script currently in active development at Amazon Studios. This is a heartfelt comedy project with great potential.
  
  As you contemplate how you'd rewrite the script, feel free to add, remove or change characters, settings, names, and scenes; rework these if it serves to better tell your version of the story. Both live-action and animated takes will be considered. Please be sure to keep it a family-friendly comedy (rated G to PG-13) and to hold on to the core premise.
  
  You should base your proposal on the Original Draft of the project, which is available on the script page.

  Your proposal

  • Contact Info: Include your full name, writing partner’s name (if applicable), phone number, and email address
  • Creative Vision (up to 1.5 pages): This should be a short overview of how you’d like to approach the script. What’s your take on this material? What changes would you want to make? What is the tone?
  • Character Breakdown (up to 2 pages): Please describe the main characters in your take and their specific arcs throughout your story. Be sure to include each main character's backstory and relationship to the others. Point out new characters you’d add or existing ones you’d remove.
  • Treatment (up to 3 pages): Detail the story you want to tell in narrative form. Please include the entire story from the opening of the film to the end. Be sure to highlight (in bold) where the key structural plot points fall within your treatment. This includes, but is not limited to: the inciting incident, the break into act 2, the midpoint, the break into act 3, and the finale.
  • A feature writing sample. This writing sample must be a full-length theatrical screenplay written by the same writer or writing team submitting the Writer’s Proposal.

  Note: for your proposal, use a legible 12pt font with standard margins. Acceptable fonts include Times New Roman, Calibri, or Courier.
