How to perpetuate your thoughts ideas and feelings beyond the initial interaction. Historically this is an area that we as a culture have failed to provide maintenance toward.
Right about now you are asking:
I) What is this brother talking about
II) He has no clue what I am doing
II) I dont need to read this/I know what I am doing
If you have a clue great, if you thought 1 & 3 please continue to read. When we promote or generate a piece of work we are asking consumers to accept and back our current idea as well as our future ideas, treatments, concepts and so forth. What do we give them in return? Sometimes we turn out a poor production and are forgiven but more often we turn out average work and it is lauded as fabulous. It is true that no one is going to love everything that we do nor is everything we do going to be a masterpiece. I personally would love to read Shakespeare's closest contemporary competitions work to compare; I digress.
Our followers and fans should always expect our offering as the best that it can be at that moment. The best and most prolific example that I can show you at this writing is a comparison between the post 1999 (album) Prince and Musicology Prince. Both very good entertainers, both well liked, both popular but when you think of them as a whole you can see how this entertainer combined past, present and a future plan into retaining a fan base and nurturing it forward. As Prince evolved and made a few missteps along the way he lost some of us but he still had a positive place in our minds.
I suggest that some of you that are looking for the one great thing do many good things and stop letting your search for perfect be the enemy of your good in doing so you just might find your greatness.
When we do good we are seen as great and are set aside from those of us that are seeking the limelight through assumed perfection. Be a better you today, allow others to see you for whom you really are. Our actions and follow through define us more than you will ever know. It has taken me a while to learn that lesson, I hope for your sake it does not take you that long to get the message.
Go forth and create with good intent and the rest will come.
