Black Science Fiction Society Weekend Roadtrip: Urban Axis IndyCon 2!
We had a great roadtrip this past weekend of from Friday, July 23 to Saturday, July 24, 2016, to attend the Urban Axis IndyCon 2 in Decatur, GA, at the Satellite Cinemas. During the event I (Jarvis Sheffield), Chasite Goodman, Joey Pinkney, Tanya Woods and Kwesi Jackson participated in this awesome event by attending panels, participating on panels, showcasing books, magazines, and posters. We also bought merchandise from fellow vendors such as comics, art, novels, and shirts. In addition, it was great to fraternize with vendors and patrons.
This event was another great stop on our Black Science Fiction Tour for 2016. This event and others are the lifeline to independent creators of color and provide distribution points for our creations. This type of event also serves as excellent networking opportunities as well as much needed cultural events that families can attend.
I want to give my sincere thanks to everyone involved or participated in this auspicious occasion. If you have never been please be sure to attend next year and check our international events calendar to find when and where similar events are held. My hat is off to the Urban Axis IndyCon, we look forward to attending an even bigger and better event next year.
