blacksuperhero.com

In case you have not noticed the forum at blacksuperhero.com has been disabled.

Some of us here first met and even got our feet wet at that site so it will be missed.

However, certain things must be said as the black super hero movement continues on it's journey...

Whether positive or negative we must still thank Omar for providing us with a place to rant, vent and share our ideas together as a community.

There was great fellowship and a freedom to be black and bold without compromise.

But at certain times things got way out of hand and I as one of the culprits responsible take parts of the blame for letting things go beyond what being a super hero was meant to be.

As time went on a lot of members like myself left and went on to other sites like this one here and the atmosphere there became something where growth was stagnant and less than prosperous or a ghost town.

Who is to blame does not matter because we all bare some responsibility for the image and likeness of black super heroes in general.

What we can learn from this is that by trial and error there are things that are proven to work and things that are proven to be unworthy of revisiting.

Recently at another site a racial problem has reared it's head that revolves around the characters Black Panther, Storm and Wolverine where members were banned or they left to other sites more welcome to their views.

We can expect that some of them may find their way here or to Hudlin's site in the near future but what the real problem is is that there are hundreds of thousands and even millions of potential black consumers that we are not ready yet to cater to.

As Black History Month approaches the state of black super heroism is uncertain but also brimming with a lot of potential for excellence.

Sometimes a forest fire must burn down everything to make way for new growth.

From The Black Panel at Comic-con being moved to Friday instead of the prime time Saturday slot to todays recent developments the black super hero movement has been staggered... But like Batman we can climb out of that Lazarus Pit and save the day!

We still have ECBACC, Onyxcon and BSFS.com but more is needed for the larger picture.

There is a void out there waiting to be filled... Who will step up and assume command?

Thanks for everything Omar

God Bless You and blacksuperhero.com
