Good Day all.
Nelo Maxwell your aspiring writer, and all around young lad. I've noticed something odd on BSFS these days, something that bothers me. BSFS no longer has the family atmosphere. Now I realize that this primarily a place for black creators to showcase they're art, sell it and sometimes network, but it used to be like a second home. Many folks on here were like family, there were threads created simply for the enjoyment of all the other members and while I am aware that displaying the newest Black owned or produced work is enjoyable, it's still business.
Now the reason I'm bothered by this is because I for a long time considered this a safe haven for a young black kid who didn't know any others who liked sci-fi as much as I did. I know things change, and I know I have no right to tell anyone how to behave, but I just had to get that off my chest.
