Good morning, Angels, we have some bad news: Robert Wagner is out of 'Charlie's Angels.'
The former 'Hart to Hart' star was tapped to voice Charlie, boss of three very angelic private detectives, but according to TV Guide Magazine, he's out of the series. Why? Scheduling conflicts.
Wagner reportedly got the role via an old deal he had with the late Aaron Spelling. The role will be recast, meaning the voice in the 'Charlie's Angels' pilot sent to media is only temporary.
'Charlie's Angels' stars Minka Kelly, Rachael Taylor and Annie Ilonzeh as a team of private eyes -- from both sides of the law -- who work for the unseen Charlie.
So, just who should take up the Charlie reins? Somebody with a distinct voice would be interesting. Martin Sheen could slide into the role nicely. They could go a different route and have a woman, like 'Star Trek: Voyager' captain Kate Mulgrew.
