As a creator, even when we are not in the act of creating our art form, we are forever doing so mentally. But on the real, if you could measure the output of your potential in terms of a percentage, what would yours be? Eg, I've written and published 6 books, but in my mind it is barely 3% of what goes on in my head and barely 20% of what is sitting in my hard drive awaiting completion. What is the percentage of your output? How long has it taken you to put out that percentage? What has stopped you from increasing your output? If you haven't yet put your work out for others to purchase/share/experience, why? Excuses aside, what can be done to improve your output? Is it time, finance or is it simply the need to get out of your own way? This isn't to preach or compare, I'm just genuinely curious.
To answer my own questions:
What is the current percentage of your output?: 3%
How long has it taken you to reach that percentage?: 7 years (2 of them spent procrastinating, possibly more!)
What has stopped you from increasing your output?: Real talk, I don't have a proper excuse. Sure children, health, lack of time/money are very real contributors, but truth be told, procrastination and laziness play a bigger part (wow, not feeling the reality of that confession, but there you have it).
If you haven't yet put your work out for others to purchase/share/experience, why? N/A
Excuses aside, what can be done to improve your output? I need to place more value on my NEED to create as well as the value my output can have on others.
Looking forward to hearing your take on it.
