In a recent post at IndieWire, Kevin Grevioux posits his theory on the lack of Black Scifi filmmakers. This has created quite a bit of discussion on the site in response to some of his ideas. And it has spilled out to be continued on a number of other forums, including LinkedIn, where it came up in one of the groups I follow. In that discussion, the question was asked which forms the basis the discussion I would like to initiate here...Who is/are the most famous or influential Black Sci-fi writer(s) of note currently? Who are the new Octavia Butlers/Stephen Delanys for our current moment? (I have some ideas of who would like to be, one day, considered in such august company ;-) but maybe not just yet!)
