Greetings all. I am new here and I wanted to ask a question about self publishing. I have completed my first sci-fi novel and I am now scouting possible companies to use. Currently, I have been looking at some on-line comparisons between companies and one of the companies that caught my eye was Dog Ear publishing. I am still doing my research on them while also searching for other options.
My situation is that I only need the basics of self-publishing such as:
- Control of all files
- Good quality cover and binding (soft or hard cover options)
- Formatting of the book
- Taking my artwork and direction for the cover
- Reasonable time frame to print and response
- ISBN
- Printing of the final product
- Placement of the book on Amazon, B&N, etc.
My plan is to market the book myself through my own niche network and I also plan to create my own eBook using Calibre.
Does anyone have experience in this areas and any advice to offer? What choices in companies have those of you are experienced chosen and why? Thanks in advance.
