Teaching a brief winter session course on slavery & film--from "Birth of a Nation" to "Roots." Naturally, I'm trying to include some speculative fiction. I'm showing Kevin Willmott's counterfactual mockumentary "C.S.A.: Confederate States of America." Would also like to show "Space Traders," the film adaptation of the Derrick Bell short.Does anyone know of a site/place where "Space Traders" (or the full Cosmic Slop) can be downloaded or bought as a dvd?And can anyone offer suggestions on any other films that engage slavery through the lens of speculative fiction?Thanks much.
