Yo yall, boom, yesterday I went to the Tavis Smiley, America I AM exhibit at the science center.
I thought I wasn't gonna like it because I get confused when black people talk all this "I'm an American" or "we" shitt when it comes to the US.
And more so when I see black people beggin america to accept and acknowledge us.
This always confuses me.
But the exhibit wasn't nuntin like that.
My guess is because of the white sponsors perhaps he had to throw "american" on there somewhere.
but anyway the jawn was impressive.
real nice.
highly recommended.
i learned 3 things this week.
one of them i learned at the exhibit yesterday.
it's like you know how you might have a like a haunted house or something that you walk through?
it was like that except for it wasn't haunted and it was well lit.
so you are basically slowly zigzagging throughout the these huge rooms adorned with pieces of african and black history and our experience here. and artifacts and different pieces things for you to read.
and then tour guides who take you through it at certain points.
so when we got to the triangular trade portion,

i was looking at the amount of slaves that went to south america.
its a lot.
i'm saying waaaaay more black people in south america then here.
think about that for a minute.
i always heard about how deep we was in brazil, but i ain't never really realize it til yesterday.
anyway, the exhibit is recommended.
i appreciated it.
it was done chronologically.
so you start off with african sculptures then go through exhibits showing the doors of no return then onto stuff like fredrick douglas and hariett beecher stowe and onto fighting against the ku klux klan and the movement and then to michael jackson and michael jordan.
naw i'm just kidding but sometimes one of the signs of the myth of black progress is "look how many black entertainers we have nowadays" etc, etc etc.
like entertainment is on par with abolitionism.
but all in all the exhibit was recommended.
it was late and i rushed thru the end but i would go again.
i dunno how this is black sci fi...
hmmmm...
it was at the science center!
and it was black!
black sci fi.
there's the link!
alright, peace yall.
