If you are familiar with the Caldecott medal,Coretta Scott King Award,Society of Illustratorsmedal and other award winning husband/wife team of Diane and Leo Dillon, you know this is a truly sad loss. I have always admired the depth and range of styles that Leo brought to their picture books.
He was the first African American to win the Caldecott medal among other honors.
