The Man, The Myth,  George Cook, Author Of The Dead War Trilogy http://www.zombiepop.net/the-man-the-myth-the-george-cook-author-of-the-dead-war-trilogy/

Star Wars is what started it all for me.

I remember being about nine or ten years old and my father taking me to see it for the first time. It blew my mind. I ran home and started writing my only little Star Wars stories featuring my siblings and friends.

The stories were horrible but would ignite my love of writing and reading.

I read all kinds of books but mainly Science Fiction as my father was a member of a scifi / fantasy book of the month club. I remember loving all of the Dragon rider of Pern books, The Magic of Xanth and the John Carter books.

As I got older I took creative writing courses and journalism classes. For a while drifted more toward commentaries and journalistic writing while in college.

When I joined the US Army I started writing science fiction to pass thew time but never seriously considered publishing anything.

In 2010 with the advent of the Kindle and the ability to self publish I published my first book. That book was titled Let’s Talk Honestly and it was a book of poetry. I then published a second book of poetry in 2011.

I promised myself that my next book would be fiction. I knew it would involve sceience fiction but not much else. I also liked horror and action stories so I decided to put all three together. I also loved the idea of creating my own universe with it’s own rules and unique characters.

The Dead War Series George Cook

The result was the Dead War Series Book One.

The book was the story of a lone Special Forces soldier who had to fight his away across a city filled with the dead to deliver a very important message. A message that could save mankind.

The book and the series is a mixture of The Walking Dead, Aliens, and Black Hawk Down.

The book was more succcessful than anything I had ever written. In a few months it sold more than my other books combined.

I wasn’t in a position to make a living writing but I quickly had over a thousand twitter followers for the book and something of a fan base.

That success limited as it was led to two sequels. The Dead War Series: Abomination and The Dead War Series: WAR both released in 2013.

I have put all three books together available in one volume. It is called The Dead War Trilogy and retails at Amazon for the Kindle for $2.99.

I am currently working on another Dead War Series book and outling another series that will be more in the super hero realm. I hope you enjoy the trilogy and check out the upcoming books.
