Hi everyone...I found this extraordinary group via Expansive Horizon's magazine and I must tell you... I've been searching for something like this for awhile. I view a couple of sci fi / fantasy boards but i'm fairly infrequent in my participation because I kinda view myself as an outsider trying to soak up as much knowledge as possible but not wanting to rattle feathers. I know I'd rattle feathers because I'm a devout believer in speculative fiction and while I have read MANY fantastic stories through the years the consistent lack of diversity in the thought and exo-features of characters is bordering the insane. While I love my race and ethnicity.. I'm not trying to champion any particular sect but I see a world of almost infinite cultures not just in our everyday world but in the world of our own imagination. I'm into the progressive nature of imagination and with that comes uncharted territories. These sometime make us uncomfortable but to me that discomfort broadens my horizon. I ask myself "Why shouldnt speculative fiction push the envelope more than any other form?" In my everyday life there are countless things I could never bring myself attempt or do... but in my writing or those things I read there is nothing I wouldnt consider or explore.thanks for building this home..
