I recently got turned on to MEGA a cloud repository that is new. It will have issues and it will have problems. Try it at your own risk. This is not an advertisement for MEGA, not (sort of) nor an endorsement --
I have dealt with Google for years using Google Docs but I was forced into having my cloud be open when ever I sign in. I chose not to use it anymore. Microsofts SkyDrive never called to me as every Microsoft email account that I own is plagued with SPAM I have one that gets, ten thousand plus SPAM emails per year. That number is a conservative underestimate. Furthermore SkyDrive for my convenience is open when and where ever I sign into anything Microsoft. You would think that because I was an early adopter of the new touch tablet SURFACE I would be good with this. Wrong again.
Technology with an omni sign in point with no ability to sign out when finished does sound neat and convenient if you are on the go all day but it is not secure and nor is it wise. The loss of theft of work product is compromised easily if your connection is always open. A skilled programmer has all the time in the world to run an encryption key cracker after cloning your MAC address with an always open for your convenience sign in. I like being able to sign out, You are thinking just turn off your device, that sounds logical doesnt it? If that is a way to thwart would be interlopers why is it that when you resume power to your device you are already signed in? Once a MAC address is cloned a user is compromised. Therefore there is nothing convenient about one sign in all access and you can get your data anywhere. So can anyone else.

Now enters MEGA! What makes this the right choice? It is accessed like all the others through an HTML portal using HTTPS and requires a password and can be logged out of at will. Sounds the same for the most part. Here comes the beauty. If you access MEGA on a public computer and your password is hacked or your MAC address is compromised. It only affects you. Not the millions of other users that have their user name and unique login in routed in the same database.
Each MEGA log in uses one individual HTTPS key and there is only one user per database (you), that is an over simplification of how it works but it does clearly explain it with the least amount of tech jargon or deep explanation.
Sharing in MEGA is great for artist who spend hours rendering images or complete scenes, MEGA boast a 50GB initial non-paid storage base or you can pay for an annual account at $135 per year (currently) for 500GB ~
Cloud storage is never going to go away. MEGA has the current infrastructure for a secure base at today's technology threshold. It gives me the impression that it will be willing to grow its ability to deliver technology improvements on size and security in a scaleable way to meet our future needs.
WHY
Why am I so hot about MEGA ~ I had an incident where I misplaced my password. In MEGA if you lose it and you have files in MEGA you are royally screwed! IMPORTANT SAVE YOUR PASSWORD there is no other way to resolve the issue if you lose it.
I received a direct fast (human) response from MEGA within hours not days. In a continued conversation I was given best use service and advice on how to proceed in an attempt to fix my issue. Within 6 hours of reporting my problem to customer service I had a resolution that made sense for both me and the MEGA and I am on my way to loading up files and accessing MEGA freely again.
