It's War!!

Help me create the longest battle scene in the history of science fiction, starting right now...1,000 heavy Valkrie cruisers emerged from the distorted folds of hyper space, forward batteries blazing a rain of ion death on the planet below. The lead cruiser, Hammerhead, altered course, heading for the planet Zeron's lone moon. A glowing constellation of missiles zipped from launchers beneath the ship. 500 internally guided Hell Wing missiles, armed with anti-matter spiced thermal nuke warheads covered the gap between launch point and target in less than 20 seconds. Within 8 seconds of striking their lunar targets, roughly one fourth of Zeron's moon was engulfed in a seething blanket of illumination, as if a star were giving birth on the surface. The initial blinding flare of a nuclear conflagration was not allowed to subside. A sustained space to surface bombardment kept the embers of armageddon hot. More explosions from impacting Hell Wing missiles flattened the moon's rocky topography, creating oceans of lava. Civilian habitats, research stations, military bases, manufacturing complexes and any other directly targeted facility disappeared in these devastating first strikes. Those structures not targeted, were leveled in a storm wind of collateral destruction.Missile fire erupted from Zeron's surface. Millions of projectiles punched upward through layers of cloud cover, zeroing in on enemy ships. Cruiser point range guns swept back and forth, discharging streams of metal spheroids in the paths of oncoming missiles. The skies above Zeron pulsed fire and gas from so many planet-launched missiles colliding with clusters of metal balls. Zeron's night side turned to day. The point range guns were effective enough to destroy 98 percent of the 2.5 million missiles hurled from Zeron's surface. Exceptionally good auto-turreted marksmanship. Not perfect. The 2 percent that slipped through the anti-missile net innundated the Valkries. Cruiser shields were strained by multiple impacts, in a few cases winking out of existence, thus subjecting unshielded hulls to stresses they were not meant to absorb. 200 cruisers went nova, and flame coated debris sprouted from so many destructive focal points to pelt the planet's surface...
