I don't if this could be managed, but what about trying to interview Janelle Monae about Afrofuturism?
If you look at her albums relationship to black-narrative take on Metropolis, it's a pretty amazing piece of musical work, and would be a perfect fit for an interview - assuming she was willing to do it.
