Hey everyone,

I wanted to post in here about the evolution of my plan for the True Tales of the Soryan Order website I set up.
It's been about 2 months in with a steady increase in traffic, but not a giant increase in traffic. I of course am to blame for this since I should have been out there screaming from the rooftops (don't know why I'm so damn shy about promoting my own work lol).
Anyway, I was reading Problogger.net and I saw this video promo offered:
http://www.thelaunchcoach.com/freestuff/problogger/
I downloaded it and took a look. LONG video but worth it. The guy (Dave Navarro) lays out a comprehensive approach to launching an ebook or other product online.
Most of this has to do with list-building, so I went and signed up for the Aweber.com newsletter service and I'm now offering a weekly newsletter service.
My plan is to keep offering subscribers extra information and value, while I'm building up anticipation for the eventual release of this story as a printed book and an ebook version.
To sweeten the deal, I'll offer extra chapters, extra art and also discounts or freebies on merchandise (I'll be setting up my zazzle shop very soon). I'll have to see what I can afford but I'll throw in whatever I can reasonably do.
Right now I've finally got my RSS feed going through Feedburner, with less than 20 subscribers right now. That's a one way communication there, and I'd like to get people interacting on my site more so I'll try to really draw them in with the newsletter and get them used to interacting with me.
So essentially, I would recommend that everyone who's looking to launch a product download the video and block out the 78 minutes it takes. I copied it over to my PS3 so I could watch it on my couch since I don't like to watch that long on my computer :P.
Not all of the advice was relevant to what I'm trying to do, but I got some really good tips out of it and I think most people here might do the same.
The disclaimer here is that I'm just starting on the plan now, so I don't have definite results yet, but I've actually seen it in action with the launch of an e-book from Andre Price over at blenderguru.com.
It looked like he followed the plan pretty closely from the video, and when he launched his ebook he made enough money the first week to quit his job. Nice.
Of course this rests on us having a product that people want. I'm not sure my story will be in as high demand as his 3D tutorials, but I don't need J.K. Rowling success to be happy.
Anyway, I'll wrap this up, but I'd love to hear what you all think about this video if you choose to watch it. Hopefully it helps someone else.
