Hi, I am looking for an author I read years ago, but can't remember. He wrote a book of science fiction short stories featuring black themes and primarily black characters. One story was about a genius boy whose father sells his body parts to fun access to the academic web so he can further his genius. In a related story the boy grows to become a leader, subtly manipulating in the back ground to bring creative types to a sort of think tank to imagine and build the future. The world he created was fascinating, and included things like prisons where inmates were controlled by "snakes" or these medicine arm bands, and there was workers in the economy and then those who were not in the work cycle and had to live in barracks and eat government rice and beans. There was one story wherein a genetic terrorist virus that would kill all non-blacks gets released. Very interesting stuff, but I cannot remember the author and I want to read more! Any one recognize this writers stuff and know his name??? Thanks very much!
