As you probably know by now the Native American community is at odds with the NFL team known as the Washington Redskins over their controversial name!
The owner of the team Dan Snyder refuses to change the name despite political pressure to do so!
Having confirmed native American blood in my system I once worked a convention for one of my former clients who is a member of the Pechanga Tribe where I gave fitness assessments for most of the day!
I also happen to be a huge fan of the national champion Florida State Seminoles football team since the days Deion Sanders and them made that victory video similar to the Chicago bears Super Bowl shuffle where unlike Da Bears who won that years Super Bowl Florida State got blasted by my younger brother's favorite team longtime rival Miami Hurricanes 31-0! Lol
Anywho...
The Native American community is rallying to force the name change which unlike the Seminoles or my younger brother's actual alma mater The Illinois Fighting Illini is a direct racial offense!
Of course if my favorite team was forced to change from the Seminoles name I would agree and keep it moving to whatever they came up with instead of holding fast as the owner of the Redskins is currently doing!
Often times black folks would joke about having "Indian" in their blood to confirm their straight hair or even to avoid claiming to be fully black but in this case here those of us who might actually have ancestors from that proud lineage should make a stand against this offense as we would when someone goes Donald Sterling behind the scenes!
