I'm Tariq Hassan illustrator and Comic Artist. I'm very glad to have found this board being a huge Sci-Fi fan.
I've been blessed with the opportunity to draw some great sci-fi related stuff, including some work on the Star Wars minis line. It's not hard sci-fi, but it one hurdle all artists hope to pass( working on anything Star Wars related that is)
In fact when I've approached assignments for gaming books I've always made an effort to "add black" when the description left room for interpretation. Check out my website a blog to see some of the final results.
Sorry to jump into the fray with shameless marketing, but in the spirit of entrepreneurship and an honest love of sci-fi, I'd honestly love to draw a commission of your favorite character or your personal character.
