Say if you wanted to write a story on greek mythology set in ancient greece,and most of the cast is greek,but you're not greek (or white) ,how would that work?

-it's happened before,some stories (i write short stories)the cast is mostly black,some mostly some other race,others the race isn't mentioned? what should i do? does anyone have any experience/suggestions? i do like to write from 'the black perspective',but sometimes i just want the human perspective .
